I present myself...

My name is Felipe, and I am glad that you are here reading about my crazy project Andes Coffee. I come from Chile and live in Germany since 2012. I did my studies in International Business Administration in Münster. After reflecting a long time if coming back or stay, I decided to stay in Europe, but with one conviction, do something that can changes lives in Latin America. Since I am young I have a strong passion for coffee, but was completely wrong about my conception of good coffee, until I met Producers from Colombia who shown me the Specialty coffee and the big importance of it.

Did you know that the coffee is traded in the Stock Market, and its prices historically is around 1 USD per Kg.? do you think it is real fair for the farmers and producers? well, for us it is not. That´s why the coffee market have been taking seriously the application of new changes.

This is why the coffee market has been constantly changing in last years. We, as Andes Coffee, want to be part of this change.
The changes we mention, are for example: better control of the harvesting times, more efficient processes of drying and cleaning of the fruits, considering better use of the water sources. That in basic terms, but in more profound terms we are working on researching new varietals, controlled fermentation processes (yes, one of the processes of coffee is fermentation) and many other things that this wonderful world of coffee is showing us.
Just as wine began to be made many years ago, today specialty coffee seeks to follow that path of excellence and taste experience.
